Election of Trustees 2017
We are seeking applications from within our membership to join the Institute of Fundraising Board of Trustees.
The last 18 months has seen considerable change within the fundraising sector, most notably with the launch of the new Fundraising Regulator. Increased public, political and media scrutiny of our work has become the new normal for the sector. During this period the IoF has played a key role in representing the views and sharing the insights of our members, and the wider fundraising community, with governments and other key decision makers.
We have three vacancies which are open to any Institute member residing in the UK.
The Institute has made a commitment to ensure the Board is reflective of the whole fundraising community. We are keen to ensure that trustees are drawn from charities of all sizes, that we reflect the UK-wide nature of our National and Regional Groups and that we have a mix of consultant and practitioner fundraisers on the Board.
We are looking for applications from members who fulfil the following criteria (please refer to the Trustee Recruitment & Information Pack for the full criteria):
- Ability to contribute to strategic decision-making
- Understanding the governance role of a Trustee
- Experience of acting as a representative of an organisation
- another membership organisation
- successful public policy campaigns
- commercial activities similar to IoF
- working in professional standards or compliance
In addition to the AGM in July and a strategy away day, the Board meets at least three times a year. Meetings of the Board usually take place from 13.00 to 17.00 at our offices in London.
