You may be eligible to claim tax relief on your Individual membership subscription.
We are on the HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) approved list of professional bodies for which tax deductions for fees and subscriptions are approved. You should be able to reclaim tax paid on your membership subscriptions if:
- You are a professional fundraiser or work for a charity in a paid capacity, thereby making the subscription fee relevant to your profession.
- Membership of the Institute is either a prerequisite to your job or greatly enhances your ability to perform in your job;
- The subscription has been paid by you, or by someone else on your behalf, and included in your pay package.
If you normally complete a Tax Return simply include your membership details in the 'Additional Information' section in order to get the tax relief. If you don't complete a Tax Return you just need to contact your local Tax Office.
You might also want to check out the relevant information on the HMRC website.
