Working Party
When a Code is revised or a new one developed, a working party is convened to undertake the work.
Membership of a working party is voluntary and not remunerated and the membership will be considered carefully to ensure sufficient depth and expertise in the area(s) of fundraising covered by the proposed Code.
Standards Committee
The Standards Committee of the Institute has ultimate responsibility for approving a Code.
Consultation
All Codes undergo at least a one month consultation period with stakeholders before they are finally approved.
Key stakeholders include our individual and organisational members, Government departments including the Office of the Third Sector, the Charity Commission, Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator, and umbrella bodies in the sector.
Consultation periods are advertised by e-mail, on this website and in the sector press.
Full details are available in the Consultation Procedure briefing.
