Foundation Course in Fundraising Practice

Covering the issues in greater depth

The Foundation Course in Fundraising Practice is a 4-day course, but in significantly greater depth than the Introduction to Fundraising. This course is aimed at a variety of individuals:

  • The individual just starting in a fundraising job for the first time.
  • The individual who has been in fundraising for a short while, or has been in fundraising for a longer period but has, as yet, received no formal training in fundraising.
  • The individual who wants, or their employer wants, to put their current job into context, learn skills specific to their current job or to learn not only about their current job but also the jobs of the other types of fundraisers in their organisations and how they interact.

(Note: It is not necessary to attend the one-day Introduction to Fundraising course prior to this one.)

It is at this stage that the individual, or their employer on their behalf, should consider taking out Associate Membership of the Institute of Fundraising.

This will serve two purposes, firstly this will enable the individual to access important information relating to their job and keep up to date with developments in fundraising through the comprehensive Members Only section.

For the line manager it will mean a significantly enhanced return on the investment made in training and the cost of this membership could be factored into the cost of the course.
