Many fundraisers think that legacy giving is just like any other form of fundraising; however, new studies using fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging) show just how differently the brain reacts to legacy decisions. In the first public presentation in the U.K. of his findings, Dr. Russell James, author of the world’s first published peer-reviewed research examining charitable bequest decision-making using fMRI, will review his latest findings and present a new model of the deep processes involved in bequest decision-making. He will detail a wide range of practical applications for legacy officers and advisors that will help you improve your legacy fundraising communications. The session will be followed by a panel discussion where a panel of legacy marketers, along with Dr. James, will share additional ideas for implementing the research findings.
