What are the qualities of a good fundraiser?
Before you start your search, it is important to know who you are looking for. What sort of skills will they need to do the job? What sort of person will fit in well with team or do you need someone who can work on their own? It's much easier to find what you're looking for if you know from the start what it looks like.
You will also need to think about whether you can pay someone to fundraise for you. Many fundraisers are paid but there are also lots of fundraising volunteers that support organisations throughout the UK.
National Occupational Standards for Fundraising
This document sets out the skills that staff and volunteers who are responsible for raising funds for their organisation should have as well as what they should know and understand in order to do their job well.
The fundraising standards comprise three major groupings: fundraising support, fundraising and fundraising management. They have been structured in this way to make it easier for users to identify standards that may be relevant to their role.
