Guidance for IOF Groups

The Institute of Fundraising (IoF) is the professional body for fundraisers – with a primary role in developing, supporting and representing fundraisers. We are a member-led body and much of our strength relies on the insight, understanding and practical experience of our members. IoF National, Regional and Special Interest Groups are an integral part of the IoF delivering its strategic objectives across fundraising disciplines and throughout the UK.

This document incorporates amendments, updates and additions following the outcome of the Strategic Review of IoF Groups carried out in 2011/12 and supersedes all previous guidance documents.

The document contains guidance in five key areas:

  1. Governance
  2. Finance
  3. Events
  4. Training
  5. Communications

Each section of this on-line guidance outlines key purpose and measures and contains links for further detail, information and action in the form of:

  • How-to guides
  • Templates
  • Appendices

Group and SIG administrators can access this Guidance here
