Scottish Trusts Statutory & Foundations

The Scottish Statutory, Trusts and Foundations SIG meets four times a year. Our events regularly attract 40-50 members, which we believe is a positive sign that we’re getting it right in terms of the quality of speakers and topics covered.

Membership is diverse. We have some solo fundraisers from small charities, as well as Trust specialists from larger departments. The charities represented range from small to Scotland-wide organisations and Scottish branches of UK bodies. The causes too are wide-ranging, from health and disability, to education, arts and environment. Events include presentations from funding representatives of both small and large Trusts, as well as Statutory bodies, from Scotland and south of the border.

Grant writing can often be a lonely business! Members have told us they appreciate the opportunity for informal networking, sharing issues and celebrating successes with like-minded fundraisers. More recently we have also branched out into investigating skills workshops, such as story writing or using major donor techniques in Trust fundraising. Meetings take place in Edinburgh, Glasgow and more recently Stirling.
