The principal aims of the Scottish International special interest group are as follows:
- To raise the awareness of funding opportunities and needs amongst Insitute and non-Institute members by bringing together funders and fundraisers.
- To increase the pool of funding in Scotland by promoting dialogue with funders and by representation of the interested parties.
- To encourage partnerships between NGOs for more cost effective fundraising.
- To share examples of and promote best practice in international development fundraising in Scotland.
Activities
The group will achieve these aims by:
- Arranging quarterly meetings for members that provide an opportunity to meet and engage with funders in the Scottish international development sector. These meetings will also provide members with the opportunity to network with colleagues from a wide spectrum of international development organisations.
- Facilitating an email group, allowing members to discuss topics and raise questions relating to international development fundraising.
Meetings
A small cost of £20 (£60 non Institute Members) is charged to attend the programme of four meetings a year.
