In January 2007, after months of discussion the Scottish Trusts & Foundations Group and the Scottish Statutory Group merged to become known as the Scottish Trusts, Statutory and Foundations Group. This follows a similar merger of groups in England last year.
The move makes sense as there were crossovers of interest between the two groups, particularly with regard to lottery funds. It was also found that an increasing number of trust fundraisers are also responsible for lottery and/or statutory applications.
The new group will now include topics and speakers from trusts and lottery funds and, to a lesser extent, statutory funds such as the Scottish Executive and corporate foundations.
This new remit will provide members with a broader range of information and knowledge of available funds.
