Speaking up for Charity Fundraising

The IoF has launched a new campaign ahead of the 2017 General Election, asking fundraisers across the country to join the Institute of Fundraising in ‘speaking up’ for charity fundraising. Fundraising is such an important profession, raising billions of pounds every year for great causes, and we believe even more needs to be done to support and celebrate this in the next Parliament.

Download a copy of the open letter that Peter Lewis, Chief Executive of the IoF, has sent to all of the main political party leaders ahead of the election outlining the vital role fundraising plays in improving live and communities and connecting people to the causes they care about, as well as some specific ways we believe that the next government could act to support charity fundraising.

This letter is backed up by the Supporting Charity Fundraising: General Election 2017 short policy briefing, outlining ways the next Government should offer support for smaller charity fundraising and promoting legacy giving to help charities raise the money they need to improve all of our lives and our country.

If you are a fundraiser, we need YOUR help to speak up for the profession and contact your local candidates ahead of the election!

Please take a look at the Speaking Up for Charity Fundraising toolkit. This provides all the advice and guidance you need to get in touch with your local candidates. We've also provided a template letter/email if your short of time.

If you are stuck, have any questions or want to tell us about how you’ve been helping, please email ExternalAffairs@institute-of-fundraising.org.uk
