The ImpACT (ImprovingAccountability, Clarity andTransparency) coalition was launched in the Summer of 2005 by a group of leading fundraising charities (supported by several infrastructure bodies) who want to work together to improve public trust and confidence in the charitable sector and the way it works.
Working individually and together, we are committed to enhancing the public’s understanding of the sector through evidence and openness.
Over 80 charities – including most of the top 50 fundraising charities with combined voluntary income of over £2.25bn – and trade bodies have already signed up to the ImpACT Coalition.
Together we have an ambitious vision– no less than a paradigm shift in the way charities present themselves. Fundamentally, we aim to improve the understanding of the public, our supporters and the media to maintain the trust we currently enjoy and from which we benefit.
We can only hope to achieve this through both concerted awareness and action across the sector and by individual charities playing their part too. We also recognise that different organisations will work at different speeds.
We really hope you will sign up, as this needs to be a sector wide initiative. It’s FREE to join (because we want as many charities to join as possible). As well as getting the initial info you’ll get updates on progress and what others are doing, as well as tips on how you can make a difference.
