Remember a Charity

One of the main roles of the Institute of Fundraising is to champion fundraising and campaign to ensure a profitable fundraising environment.

Our campaigning and influencing work is informed by the policy positions we adopt. We reflect the views and opinions of our members, thus ensuring that we speak with a strong and unified voice on behalf of all fundraisers.

We also strive to increase public awareness of fundraising and how it works so donors appreciate the fundraising work done by charities and by professional fundraisers working on their behalf.

Our campaign work is supported by:

  • research amongst Institute members;
  • representing members’ views at third sector events, in the press and in responses to government consultations;
  • collaboration with international fundraising bodies, particularly in relation to European-wide consultations; and
  • collaboration with other umbrella community and voluntary organisations involved in the third sector.

Remember a Charity

We also host Remember a Charity, a campaign to encourage more people to consider leaving a charitable gift in their will.

Since being formed in 2000, Remember a Charity has created several campaigns. The most recent being the Rocky Taylor campaign (pictured above), using the cost-effective medium of social media to spread the legacy message.
