Policy

Policy

Our policy team works to deliver a strong representative voice on behalf of individual and organisational members that influences and effects change for the fundraising profession wherever it is needed.

We work in consultation with our members to develop policy positions on a wide range of issues, which in the recent past have included the Government’s Giving White Paper, Gift Aid, the proposed abolition of cheques and mobile text donations.

Through the development of our policies, we seek to influence government and other key stakeholders and to seek sector-wide support for our policy positions.

As a Strategic Partner of the Office for Civil Society, the Institute is in a unique position to influence emerging policy and to shape emerging legislation. Our policy team produces briefings and analysis on Government proposals and consultations so that members are kept up to date on issues of key concern and have the chance to feed in their views.

We also provide a Policy Helpline for both professional and voluntary fundraisers.

The Institute believes that membership engagement in the development and implementation of policy is the key to success, and will involve members in the work in a number of ways, including surveys and focus groups.
