The way in which e-media fundraising can generate revenue, as well as awareness, for your organisation is the focus of a forthcoming Institute conference.
The event will provide advice and practical tips on how to develop and implement a successful e-media campaign. E-Media Fundraising is to be held on Tuesday 2 December 2008 at Royal National Hotel, London, WC1.
Treating new media as a separate discipline, rather than an extension of other fund and awareness raising activities is an approach taken by Breast Cancer Care.
The organisation has been able to put the supporter back at the centre of their activities by using their website as a service delivery tool.
An additional key session is Developing a Successful Digital Strategy, which will use several case studies to illustrate how a winning digital strategy that satisfies everybody can be developed.
In addition, Jason Potts at THINK Consulting Solutions and Nick Burne of the National Trust will present solutions which pay for themselves and focus investment and effort in the right areas.
Conversion rates and return on investment will also be investigated as part of a session examining the real value of digital fundraising. Perceived barriers to the uptake of the discipline will be tackled by Martin Gill of HomeMade Digital.
A new Dragon’s Den style session will see three organisations pitch their latest e-mail marketing campaigns and websites to a panel of experts.
Delegates will gain an in-depth understanding of websites and e-mail marketing, and have the opportunity to receive tailored feedback about their initiatives.
Kirsty Thomson, Head of Events at the Institute of Fundraising, says:
'If applied in the right way, e-media technology has huge potential and scope for fundraisers and the organisations for which they work.
'This highly practical event will highlight the many benefits of e-media as a technique – not least, its income raising potential.'
The comprehensive programme includes presentations from Organisational members Comic Relief and Leonard Cheshire Disability, Corporate member THINK Consulting Solutions, and Breast Cancer Care and Woodland Trust
