New Director of Learning Announced

Paul Marvell to shape future of fundraising as a career

It is announced that Paul Marvell is to join the Institute of Fundraising as Director of Learning. Paul Marvell’s first day at the Institute will be 15th June.

Paul Marvell’s role is part of the Institute’s senior management team. Specific responsibilities include developing a co-ordinated approach to learning within the Institute, which includes overseeing the continuing evolution and commercialisation of all learning products and services.

Paul Marvell has been a professional fundraiser for over 16 years. Prior to this he was Retail Training Manager at DIY retailer Homebase.

Beginning his fundraising career at RNIB, he moved to the British Red Cross in December 2000 as their first Head of Regional Fundraising, before being appointed Head of Major Donors and Events.

Most recently Marvell has been Director of Fundraising and Communications at AMREF (African Medical & Research Foundation) where he has led on the development and implementation of a new fundraising strategy.

He has also been Chair of the Institute of Fundraising Professional Development Committee for the past nine months.

Commenting on his new post, Paul Marvell, Director of Learning at the Institute of Fundraising, says:
