John Kingston OBE Congratulated

Former Institute Chair receives top honour

Congratulations to John Kingston, who has been awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to the voluntary sector in the New Year's Honours list. John Kingston is Founder Director of Venturesome, the Charities Aid Foundation's social investment arm, and was also Chair of the Institute of Fundraising from 2000 to 2003.

Lindsay Boswell, Chief Executive of the Institute of Fundraising, comments:

"John Kingston OBE oversaw the transformation of the Institute of Fundraising and laid the foundations for its subsequent growth. This is a much deserved recognition for a major service to the fundraising profession."

Separately, the chief executives of two Institute Organisational members have also been recognised in the list. Clare Tickell at Action for Children has been made a dame, and Graham Wynne of the RSPB has been knighted. Many congratulations to both.
