Win congratulated for waiving commission on text messages
In response to the news that SMS provider Win is believed to be the first to waive its commission on text donations to third sector organisations, Lindsay Boswell, Chief Executive of the Institute of Fundraising, says:
'Congratulations to Win for pioneering this approach, which sets an excellent example to other mobile phone companies. The Institute has tasked former Chair Joe Saxton to lobby the mobile phone industry and encourage phone companies to reduce the charges of donating through text message, and he is clearly getting results.
'There’s still progress to be made before text giving becomes a mainstream donation mechanism, but this represents a significant step forward.'
