What if I already have a personal development or CPD plan?
You can have as many CPD plans as you like. You may choose to have one for the whole year and add multiple objectives or you may wish to add new plans throughout the year.

How long will it take?
CPD really takes very little time above and beyond your daily routine once you begin to recognise learning opportunities, record them and then reflect on how you have applied them.
How many days of training do I have to do in a year?
There is not set amount of time or hours that you are expected to complete. You are expected to reflect on the difference the learning has made.
What counts towards my CPD?
- Workshops, training courses and conferences
- Coaching and mentoring
- Further study and qualifications
- Voluntary work, including IoF opportunities
- Relevant reading and research
- Networking and discussion groups
- Committee participation
- Online, e-learning or computer-based training, including podcasts and webinars

Can I include learning and training that I have already completed?
Yes you can include this for the last 3 years.

CPD is relevant to everyone whether you are a student, inbetween jobs, employed or running your own organisation.

You will be able to set your yearly learning objectives with your line manager and use the IoF CPD record system to monitor and evaluate how you go about achieving them.
