Small Fish in a Big Pond – A Small Charity Approach to Corporate Partnerships

The session will cover the approach taken by Yunus Bham, during his time as head of the corporate partnership team at KIDS, giving a small charities perspective on building successful partnerships. Focusing on the challenges faced by smaller charities, Yunus will cover the strategic approach taken at KIDS and how this helped them win a number of new partnerships, culminating in a four-month period at the beginning of 2019 where they secured over £250,000 of funding from partners including the BBC, Co-op, London Marathon Charitable Trust, The National Garden Scheme, Broadgate Estates and Rothesay Life.

Having previously worked in new business roles in the corporate sector, Yunus moved into the charity sector several years ago, working at smaller charities such as Richard House, Bliss and most recently at KIDS where he led the corporate team for four years, helping to raise over £1million in that time. Now Corporate Development Manager at Barnardo’s, Yunus is able to share his insights into the challenges faced by corporate fundraisers in small charities and how they differ with larger organisations.

Don't miss this event!

Where possible, we book reserve speakers for each First Thursday. These speakers will be able to give the 20 Minute Masterclass on a similar topic if our speaker is no longer able to attend. If due to unforeseen circumstances the speaker at a First Thursday event is unable to attend, we will notify you and give you the details of the reserve speaker.  We will email you via the address provided on the booking form as soon as possible.  All those who have booked for the particular First Thursday will be able to cancel their place up to 5.00pm on the day of the event.  If we are unable to confirm an alternative speaker for a First Thursday event, we will still go ahead and will facilitate a group discussion in place of the 20 Minute Masterclass, followed by a networking session.
