Recent events have put charities’ actions under the spotlight and have made transparency more important than ever. It is no longer enough to state that we are making a difference, we need to evidence it.
Moreover, the Charity Commission figures from December 2016 tell us that there are over 167,000 charities in the UK, an increase of 2,000 on the previous year. With so many charities to choose from, how can your organisation prove to donors that your project is successful and how can you demonstrate to funders that their donation is having the desired impact?
This course will help to identify appropriate methods and tools for measuring impact that are relevant for each delegate. It will also examine ways to communicate impact to a range of donors and prospects.
Who should attend?
This course is designed for fundraisers who are new or relatively new to measuring impact. Any member of staff, volunteer, committee member or trustee who needs to evidence the impact their organisation is making, will benefit from this day’s training.
Benefits you and your organisation
Many charities understand the need for good impact reporting and want to improve how they do it. But they can encounter different definitions, confusing explanations, multiple methods, and sometimes contradictory advice.
This course helps you to find clarity in understanding the difference that your organisation makes and gives you an outline of the relevant tools to measure your impact.
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Understand what key funders expect you to measure and why
- Identify the different methods used to measure impact and determine which ones are appropriate for your organisation
- Identify and articulate outcome indicators that demonstrate the impact of your work
- Effectively communicate success and impact to donors and prospects
What’s covered on this course:
- The importance of clarity in understanding where your project sits with your organisation’s vision, mission and strategy
- An assessment of the economic value and impact of different charitable sectors
- Understanding the different types of impact and how to measure them
- How to put impact at the heart of your organisation
