Two years on from our last Volunteer & Community Fundraising Conference, Loretta will open the day by providing an overview of the community fundraising landscape. This session will consider the main trends and priorities for your organisation, as well as providing insight into some of the emerging concerns and pertinent questions.

A supporter perspective

 In 2012 Aaron set up a tribute fund, ‘The Liam Charity’ in memory of his younger brother Liam, to raise money for the NSPCC’ Childline service.   Since then, Aaron and his volunteer group have organised countless events and raised an incredible £230, 000.

Now a running a team of community fundraisers himself, Aaron understands more than anyone, what it takes to be successful, effective and supportive and the importance of listening to and understanding your supporters.

 An incredible session, with lots of lessons to learn and be reminded of.

Virtual Events - the key to success

In the last couple of years, the sector has seen the dramatic rise in popularity of virtual events as more and more charities are realising their potential for building community connections and raising money for their cause. 

In this session, Lucy will present how Alzheimer's Research UK has achieved exactly this with their incredibly successful event Running down dementia. Through smart marketing and investment, Lucy has seen the product raise over £907,000 in three years with 31% of participants subsequently giving to Alzheimer’s Research UK in another way.

Improving the community fundraising experience – 10 examples and ideas from the Commission on the Donor Experience

Community fundraising can feel like a never-ending hamster wheel, as you go from one activity to the next. Sometimes you just don’t get the chance to think about improving the supporter experience and journey. This session will pull the best examples and ideas from the CDE report on community fundraising (plus a couple of new ones) and give you practical tips that will fit into your busy schedule and any charity can implement.

When Love Breaks Down - How to keep supporters, fundraisers & volunteers loyal, engaged and happy

Stewardship and training of the Bow Wow Wags at Battersea

In November 2018, the Battersea volunteer group, the Bow Wow Wows organised and ran their first ever Gala Ball. In this session, Charlotte will take you through the stewardship and training of these volunteers as they embark on their journey, from achieving internal buy-in to staging the event, right through to the event itself and income raised.

Making the most of digital channels

By using digital channels and social media, as fundraisers, we can provide and share information, thank our supporters, increase the number of people that join the community and raise awareness (and therefore income too) of everything we achieve. Yet as community fundraisers, are we actually exploiting these channels to full effect?

In this unmissable session, Emily Casson will share examples of best practice in digital marketing, as well as current trends working well for Community Fundraisers.
