Young Arts Fundraisers is delighted to announce the first event of many that will develop a professional network for early-career fundraisers in the cultural sector across England, as part of the RAISE: Arts, Culture & Heritage programme.

We kick off our national development in the South West, at Bristol’s Arnolfini, with an event designed with you in mind. We want to know the challenges that are unique to the South West: from geographical isolation to stilted progression routes and everything in between.

A panel of guest speakers including Matt Little - Founder Director and Head of Impact and Research at the Real Ideas Organisation CIC, and Hollie Smith-Charles - Director at the Gloucester Culture Trust, will begin the evening by discussing what’s on the horizon in funding, fundraising and philanthropy. You’ll then have chance to ask them your burning questions before we move on to roundtable discussions with your fellow fundraisers to identify the issues that you really care about. What challenges are you facing in your role as fundraiser? What can we do to solve them? What changes do you want to see within the sector? How can Young Arts Fundraisers help?

Matt has a research background from the University of British Columbia and Oxford, and prior to helping found the Real Ideas Organisation he worked at national level as a Ministerial Advisor and managed large regeneration and creative and cultural education programmes.

Hollie has worked in fundraising and business development for organisations across the South West and in Birmingham, including Cheltenham Festivals and Birmingham Museums Trust.

Refreshments will be available to purchase throughout the evening, and the event will be followed by networking in the Arnolfini’s cafe bar.
