Tried and tested strategies to help you write more persuasively so that you raise more money. This training will help you improve your skill and confidence in writing clear, persuasive fundraising proposals, stewardship documents and letters. It will also help you complete writing tasks far more quickly.
The course is clear, concise and engaging. With all the information out there on ‘how to make the perfect ask’, this course offers a refreshingly simple but effective way to write to your specific audience. Rob is a fantastic trainer, the course is flexible and allows you to focus on particular areas that you feel you and your organisation need to develop." Usman Mughal, Trusts and Statutory Officer, St John Ambulance
This interactive masterclass includes:
- The tried and tested three step formula that helps you radically reduce writing time and increases the chances that your reader will take action.
- Tone of voice – how to make sure your writing connects with your reader at a subconscious level.
- Creating a first impression that will get your document read.
- The Beach Ball effect and the fundamental error made in 98% of writing for fundraising.
- How the right structure transforms results.
- The Golden Thread principle, that guarantees your document will be both concise and persuasive.
- THREE ways to apply Cialdini’s Weapons of Influence in your writing.
For best results, you need to bring a piece of writing so that at the end of the workshop they can apply the techniques to that document. This could be a proposal or a piece of stewardship material, (or if you have neither of these, a letter will do). (Be reassured, we won’t be sharing these with the whole group).
I used the techniques I learned on Rob’s course to double the number of memberships I sign up every month. These fundraising strategies are really powerful." Sarah Jane O’Neill, Major Donor Manager, Stonewall
As a Director of Fundraising I’m always looking for the very best, so I’ve used Rob’s fundraising training every year for the last six years. His pitching and new business strategies are phenomenal and just as importantly, he lifts your confidence so that you go and apply it." Andy Harris, Director of Fundraising, Breast Cancer Care
Having Rob in the room for a day of training can transform the way you feel about your role and how you are able to make your charity’s needs come to life to donors. But you can’t have Rob with you face to face every day. Rob’s book The fundraiser who wanted more is the next best thing. I challenge anyone not to be a better fundraiser if they read this and follow even just one of the key tips.” Mark Bishop, Director of Development, National Trust for Scotland
Rob is without doubt the best fundraising trainer I have ever worked with. Years after attending his sessions I still use what he taught me, in fact, his strategies helped me win a partnership worth £4.5 million. If you can possibly get on one of his corporate fundraising courses, don’t hesitate, because it will help you raise a lot more money." Ciaran Biggins, Director, MindFood and formerly New Business Manager at Scope and Teenage Cancer Trust.
