Scottish Trusts Statutory & Foundations

Scottish Trusts Statutory & Foundations SIG logo 2017

The Scottish Trusts, Statutory and Foundations Special Interest Group meets four times a year alternating between Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling.

Our events regularly attract 40-80 attendees, which we believe is a positive sign that we’re getting it right in terms of the quality of speakers and range of topics covered.
We welcome everyone from sole fundraisers from small charities to Trust specialists from larger departments. The charities represented range from small to Scotland-wide organisations and Scottish branches of UK bodies. The causes too are wide-ranging, from health and disability, to education, arts and the environment.

Our events typically feature presentations from funding representatives of both small and large Trusts, as well as Statutory bodies, from Scotland and occasionally south of the border. Because our meetings are popular and we've sometimes had to cap numbers, we've introduced a policy of limiting attendance to one person per organisation. Please be respectful of this, and arrange with colleagues for one of you to come along and then share the information. We usually arrange for a speaker's slides to be sent round by email after the event.
Grant writing can often be a lonely business! Attendees have told us they appreciate the opportunity for informal networking, sharing issues and celebrating successes with other fundraisers. One meeting per year is usually an opportunity for skills or personal development, such as story writing or building resilience.
