About IoF Technology SIG

The IoF Technology Special Interest Group is for anyone working in or with charities who has an interest in fundraising and technology.

For us, technology includes (but is not limited to) websites, databases, CRM software, emails, social media and even the humble spreadsheet. This often means we discuss topics such as Gift Aid, GDPR and data protection, data hygiene, social media trends, web development, digital and innovative tech, accessibility and user/donor experience.

There's no entry exam – you don’t have to prove your l33t coding skills or execute database queries while blindfolded. All you need is an interest in how technology is used in the not-for-profit sector.

Our members are typically fundraisers, administrators, webmasters, web editors, database people and IT support staff at charities, as well as a few consultants and commercial suppliers.

Follow this site for more information on the group's activities, to view presentations from recent events and to see how you can get involved in our upcoming schedule of events and training for 2019.

Why not subscribe to our mailing list and be the first to hear about our events, job opportunities and activities.  Subscribe and edit your contact preferences here

From Soup to Nuts - The Essentials of Fundraising Database Selection for the Smaller Charity

The Institute of Fundraising Technology Committee held an Awareness Day on charity database selection and implementation planning.

This workshop style training for smaller charities and NFPs which was a pilot for future training workshops was held on 29 April 2019.

The workshop was led by Iain Pritchard and Keith Collins of Adapta Consulting and covered the essential ingredients in the recipe for a successful database system selection.

Attended by smaller charity and NFPs this was a valuable opportunity to learn from experts in this field and help to shape this future training. Agenda, presentation, guidelines on CRM selection, and contract quiz from the day are now available to download.
