Remember A Charity
This year’s Remember A Charity Week runs from 9 to 15 September 2019.
Remember A Charity is the Institute of Fundraising’s long-term campaign to grow legacy giving.
The annual ‘Remember A Charity in your Will Week’ is an opportunity for charities to come together and encourage more people to consider leaving a gift in their Will. This September, alongside 200 charities, we celebrate the 10th Remember A Charity Week.
This year’s creative campaign sees the launch of a 1970s-inspired show to tackle myths around legacy giving and increase people’s understanding. Designed to open up conversation around gifts in Wills, each episode tackles one of the most common myths that can prevent the public from leaving a bequest. This includes addressing concerns that legacies have to be particularly large, that they are complex to arrange and that they might prevent people from passing on their estate to their families.
Written by BAFTA winning Matt Berry, the content reflects an era that we all remember fondly, inspiring everyone to ‘pass on something wonderful’ by leaving a gift in their Will.
You can watch all the episodes here.
Celebrity Len Goodman, head judge on Dancing with the Stars, will be championing legacy giving throughout the week, highlighting his own experience of recently having updated his Will to include a charitable gift.
Remember A Charity is also working with its network of 1,300 solicitors and Will-writers to support them in providing advice about legacy giving to relevant clients.
