Institute of Fundraising publishes follow-up report from summit co-hosted with DCMS
20 February 2018
On 25th January 2018, the Institute of Fundraising (IoF) and the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) hosted a summit to discuss and identify ways to upscale existing and identify new fundraising initiatives. The IoF has now published a post-summit report.
Following the 2017 publication of Fundraising Support for Smaller Charities, the IoF called for key charity sector funders, sector bodies and charities to invest greater resources and energy in supporting fundraising activities for smaller charities.
Hosting the summit has achieved the one of the key recommendations made in the report, and represents a concerted drive across the charity sector and funding bodies to expand mentoring and ongoing fundraising advice and support for smaller charities.
The summit brought together charities, membership bodies, and foundations, and included a warm welcome from the minister for Civil Society, Tracey Crouch, who commended the guests for their efforts to overcome the fundraising skills gap in the charity sector. Watch her video message below.
The outcomes of the summit will be considered by DCMS to inform their policy-making and will feed into the IoF’s response to the upcoming DCMS consultation on a new Civil Society Strategy.
