IoF response to questions of public trust and confidence in charities and impact on giving
14 February 2018
Responding to questions of public trust and confidence in charities and the impact on charitable giving, Daniel Fluskey, Head of Policy & External Affairs at the IoF, said:
“The British public are committed to the charities they support, and hold a firm belief in giving to good causes. The public are rightly interested in these stories, and may have questions about how their favourite charities are working. Even if we see a short-term dip in giving over the coming weeks, we don’t believe we will see people give less overall to the causes they care about.
“We need to be sensitive to the public mood, pre-empt and be proactive in providing information and answering questions before they’re raised, and – as always – show the impact of our work, and the high standards that we follow in delivering it.”
