IoF response to recent articles in the Daily Mail

The Institute of Fundraising has issued a response to the recent articles in the Daily Mail.
Responding to recent articles in the Daily Mail, Peter Lewis, chief executive of the IoF said: "Charitable fundraising raised over £20 billion towards good causes in the UK and abroad last year, contributing hugely to the society we live in whether rescuing people from the Nepal earthquake, supporting people with cancer or protecting vulnerable children.
"Without funds the charitable activity of the scale undertaken by the major charities would not be possible.
"The vast majority of charity fundraising is delivered to the high standards set by the Institute of Fundraising.
"Where practice is uncovered that is alleged to be in contravention of the Code it is investigated by the FRSB and action can be taken."
